Grand Canyon men's soccer freshman forward
Maximilian Moeller was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week after recording a hat trick in Friday's 5-1 win against Dixie State. The award is GCU's first weekly conference award this season.

The Erfurt, Germany, native scored three goals in the second half of Friday's match, helping the Lopes win their last home match of the season and stayed undefeated. His first goal came in the 63rd minute of the match, followed quickly by another in the 65th. He scored his third in the 72nd minute, securing the first GCU hat trick since
Damian German in 2017.

With his three goals in Friday's match, Moeller is now tied to lead GCU with five goals this season. He has started all six matches for the Lopes this season, scoring in the first two matches against Houston Baptist and San Jose State. His power on offense has helped GCU to its best start in program history at 6-0, making the Lopes one of seven undefeated and untied teams in the nation this season.

The Lopes are back in action next Monday when they play at Seattle U in their second-to-last match of the regular season.
