The Grand Canyon women's soccer team wrapped up nonconference play with a 4-0 loss to Arizona State on Sunday night in Sun Devil Stadium.

The Lopes (0-4) were only able to attempt six shots with none coming on goal against ASU, which gave up two goals to GCU in Thursday's match. In the second half, the Lopes did not take a shot until 10 seconds remained in the game.

The GCU defense again dealt with a strong attack by Arizona State (4-0). But for the first time in two games, the Lopes did not allow a goal in the first five minutes. In fact, GCU nearly headed to halftime tied at 0-0 but ASU snuck in a goal by Isabel Dehakiz with less than 45 seconds left.

In the second half, the Lopes struggled to maintain possession into the midfield while only completing a few passes at a time before losing possession. ASU maintained its offensive pressure, taking 10 shots with six coming on goal.

The Sun Devils added goals in the 48th, 67th and 75th minutes in the second half.

Jordan Ferguson made her collegiate debut, appearing off the bench in the 77th minute.

The Lopes will look to start fresh this week when their WAC season begins against Utah Valley at GCU Stadium on Thursday and Saturday. Both games will be streamed on GCUTV.
