Grand Canyon women's basketball will play New Mexico State Friday and Saturday at GCU Arena in replacement of canceled WAC games at Chicago State.
The Lopes (8-1) will open conference play against the Aggies (2-5) on Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m. in GCU Arena.
New Mexico State moved its home base to Phoenix because of COVID-19 regulations in New Mexico. The Lopes will be the designated road team for games that were scheduled originally for Jan. 29-30 as NMSU home games.
The GCU games that were scheduled to be played at Chicago State this weekend are not set to be made up but they could be if the Lopes and Cougars have a common idle week in the future.
The WAC ruled that conference standings and seeding for the WAC Basketball Tournament will be based on a formula that considers winning percentage and percentage of games played.
