The Grand Canyon women's basketball team is the No. 3 seed at the Hercules Tires WAC Tournament presented by TicketSmarter. All games will be played at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- 60: The magic number is 60 points. The Lopes have won 10 straight games when scoring 60 or more points.Â
- BAKERSFIELD AGAIN: GCU and CSU Bakersfield met during the last conference game on March 7 in Bakersfield, California. The Lopes and Roadrunners went back and forth before CSU Bakersfield pulled away during the final minutes for a 49-41 win. Last year, the Roadrunners were the No. 3 seed in the WAC Tournament and dismissed the Lopes in first-round action.
- 3-SEED MAGIC: This is third WAC Tournament for the Lopes and GCU's victory came during the 2017-18 campaign. The Lopes were the No. 3 seed and defeated Utah Valley. The Lopes lost the semifinal that season to Bakersfield.
SCOUTING
CSU Bakersfield has lost four of its last six games. The Roadrunners were held to just one field goal made in the first quarter in the latest matchup with GCU. They are led by Jayden Eggleston, who was named to the WAC All-Newcomer Team.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
- GCU dropped the WAC season finale at CSU Bakersfield.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The WAC Tournament continues with semifinal action on Friday and the championship game on Saturday.
