The Grand Canyon women's basketball team will open WAC play at home this season and play its first four conference games against new conference members.

The conference announced a scheduling format in which two teams will play two games at one site on Fridays and Saturdays each week to reduce travel and exposure. Each team will have an idle conference week during the nine-week stretch that decides seeding for the March 11-13 WAC Tournament.
First-year Lopes head coach
Molly Miller's team will open WAC play against Tarleton, a new conference member from Stephenville, Texas, and return home two weeks later to face Dixie State, the other new conference member from St. George, Utah.
GCU finished second in the WAC last season, but 2019-20 champion Kansas City since has moved to the Summit League.
GCU's conference schedule includes the following two-game sets:
- Jan. 8-9: vs. Tarleton
- Jan. 15-16: at Chicago State
- Jan. 22-23: vs. Dixie State
- Jan. 29-30: at New Mexico State
- Feb. 5-6: vs. UT Rio Grande Valley
- Feb. 12-13: idle in WAC play
- Feb. 19-20: at California Baptist
- Feb. 26-27: vs. Seattle U
- March 5-6: at Utah Valley
- March 10-13: WAC Tournament in Las Vegas
The Lopes' regular season can start as early as Nov. 25. The nonconference schedule, which needed to be reconfigured with the later season start date, will be announced in the coming weeks.
