KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sophomore middle blocker
Kaira Moss enjoyed a career day in a four-set Grand Canyon volleyball win against Kansas City, closing out a 2-0 conference road trip that puts the Lopes at 12-2 on the season.
The Lopes downed the Roos 25-21, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22 on Monday night, the sixth day of the trip.

Kaira Moss had a great match attacking and we defended well tonight. It's always good to win on the road.
"We definitely need to continue to keep getting better. We have a long way to go, but we are going in the right direction."
Moss tallied a career-high 18 kills on .441 hitting and added six blocks to lead the Lopes at the net. Senior outside hitter

Klaire Mitchell each posted a double-double, as Horton tallied 11 kills and 13 digs while Mitchell had 10 digs and 45 assists. Mitchell's assist total ranks second in the Lopes' Division I history for a four-set match.
"This match was huge for us tonight because we knew how physical Kansas City was," Moss said. "Our team played in great unison tonight with one vision where it all started from the pass."
In addition to Mitchell's eighth double-double of the season, the WAC Defensive Player of the Week recorded five block assists and three kills.
GCU trailed 8-2 in the first set but the Lopes inched back to tie at 15-15 before winning 25-21, thanks to six first-set kills from Horton.
The Lopes trailed to start the second set too but quickly rallied to a 10-10 tie and used the momentum to win the set 25-16 in the largest set margin of the night.
Tied 10-10 in the third, Kansas City led by as many as four before GCU cut the lead to 23-21. Despite the attempt at the come-from-behind clinch, the Roos tallied back-to-back points to claim the third set, 25-21.
GCU jumped ahead 12-6 in the fourth set before Kansas City slowly battled back to tie the game at 21-21. A 4-1 GCU run shut things down and clinched the game for the Lopes on the road.

Annabelle Kubinski added eight kills on .467 hitting and three blocks while sophomore outside hitter
K.J. Adams had 10 digs.
The Lopes return to Phoenix to host Seattle U on Thursday at 6 p.m. and Utah Valley on Saturday at 3 p.m. inside GCU Arena.
