What is the NCAA College Basketball Academy?
The NCAA College Basketball Academy is a new developmental boys basketball academy for prospective student-athletes in the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022. The academy was created in response to recommendations from the Commission on College Basketball that was chaired by former Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice. With input from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the academy is designed to give prospective student-athletes a sample of the college basketball experience.
How is GCU involved?
Through a bidding process, GCU was selected as one of four regional sites to host the camp.
Is the event open to the public?
Partially, yes. Games will be held in two different venues on campus. Games being played in GCU Arena are open to the public, while the remaining games hosted in the Canyon Activity Center are not open to the public.
When are the games scheduled?
Games are scheduled at the below times:
Session 1
Tuesday, July 23 - 3:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Wednesday, July 24 - 3:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Thursday, July 25 - 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Session 2
Friday, July 26 - 3:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Saturday, July 27 - 3:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Sunday, July 28 - 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Which prospective student-athletes are participating?
Rosters were announced by the NCAA on Tuesday, July 16, and are available here.
What is the cost of attending the public games in GCU Arena?
Games played in GCU Arena are free.
Where can I park?
Fans attending the public games in GCU Arena can park for free in the parking garage at 33rd Avenue & Camelback Road.
