Lopes host pair of tournaments in nonconference action
The Grand Canyon women's volleyball team released its 2019 schedule with Lopes head coach Tim Nollan announcing a pair of home tournaments during nonconference action.
GCU begins the year at the Northern Colorado Classic on Aug. 30-31 with matches against New Mexico, Rutgers and Northern Colorado. The second weekend has the Lopes at the Gonzaga Invitational on Sept. 6-7 against Ball State, Gonzaga and Montana.
The Lopes host the GCU Invitational on Sept. 13-14, welcoming UC Riverside, San Diego State and Eastern Washington.
GCU hosts the Grand Canyon Classic on Sept. 20-21 with matches against CSU Northridge, Idaho and Omaha.
WAC play begins at Chicago State on Sept. 26 as the Lopes will play six of their first eight conference matches on the road.
The flip side is GCU hosting six of the final eight conference matches, including the last four before the WAC Tournament.
This year's WAC Tournament will be held Nov. 21-23 at Utah Valley in Orem, Utah.
