Grand Canyon beach volleyball dropped its first match of March on Thursday against No. 6 Hawaii (11-4). The No. 17 Lopes (10-3) started the night strong with a 2-0 lead over the Rainbow Wahine before falling in their final three matches in the Hawaii 3-2 win.

Taylor Jarzombek got off to a strong start on court four, outscoring the Rainbow Wahine 21-18 in the first set. Hawaii came back with a 21-15 win in the second set, forcing the match into a third set. Jarzombek and Priem put the Lopes up 2-0 over the Rainbow Wahine with a come-from-behind, 17-15 win in the third set.
