Junior named to the Second Team
DENVER, Colo. – In her first season with the Grand Canyon women's basketball team, junior forward Da'jah Daniel earned Second Team All-WAC honors, announced Monday by the Western Athletic Conference office.
A native of Killeen, Texas, Daniel ranked second for the Lopes in scoring in conference play at 9.7 points per game while leading GCU off the glass at 9.1 rebounds per game for a near double-double average.
Daniel tallied three double-doubles on the season, with the first one coming in a 24-point, 22-rebound performance at home against California Baptist. The junior tallied 15 points and 12 rebounds at UT Rio Grande Valley and 16 points and 12 boards at home against Chicago State in 25 minutes of work.
Overall, Daniel averaged 7.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest in 25 games, while starting 10.
Daniel joined the Lopes (7-19, 5-11 WAC) this season from Trinity Valley Community College, where she started 23 games in two seasons.
