Tournament win results in Golfer of the Week award
DENVER – Filip Lundell of the Grand Canyon men's golf has been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week, it was announced by the conference office.
Lundell captured the UC Irvine Anteater Invitational title earlier this week. He won the tournament with an 8-under-par 208 score to win by four shots.
In his 54 holes, Lundell finished with 14 birdies, including a tourney-high five birdies on par-4s. Only four players finished the tournament under par. Lundell was the only player in the field of 59 to record three straight sub-par rounds.
GCU led the tournament after the first-round after an impressive 284 (-4) score. The Lopes finished second to CSU Fullerton by 11 shots. The Lopes (874), held off third-place Santa Clara (879) and fourth-place Washington State (880).
