Freshman point guard named Player of the Week
Grand Canyon women's basketball freshman point guard Jada Holland was named WAC Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Holland delivered her strongest performance of the season on Thursday as she led the Lopes with 14 points and eight assists. GCU defeated Southern Utah 69-65 at GCU Arena.
A native of Pleasanton, California, Holland helped the Lopes (2-1) to victory by recording a career high in assists. Holland was 4 for 10 from the field and was nearly perfect from the free throw line in the game, making 5 of 6 shots.
