The Grand Canyon women's volleyball team has added 6-foot-2 outside hitter
Emilee Rohrer, a transfer from Loyola Marymount.
"I am excited to bring in Emilee," GCU head coach
Tim Nollan said. "She is a pin hitter with good size. She will develop into a terminator at the net and an excellent blocker. Emilee will train with us all spring to get her up to speed for the 2019 season."
Rohrer will begin GCU classes in January and play immediately for the Lopes with three years of eligibility remaining.
Rohrer saw action in one LMU match in 2018, when the Lions won 21 matches and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament before falling to eventual national champion Stanford.
Rohrer is a 2018 graduate of Claremont (Calif.) High School, where she was a three-time All-Palomar League selection before missing her senior season due to injury. She helped her high school team to its first league title in 19 years. The team reached the CIF Southern Section D IV semifinals. She also has competed with the 2015 USA Volleyball A1 Select Team, Forza1 Volleyball and gold medals at the Junior Olympics in the 12s and 18s divisions.
