The Grand Canyon women's volleyball team came up short in its bid to capture the GCU Invitational title, falling to Boston College 25-17, 25-17, 25-13 on Saturday night in GCU Arena.
GCU ended a successful tournament run, winning two of three matches as freshmen
Kaira Moss and
Annabelle Kubinski were named to the All-Tournament Team. Joining Moss and Kubinski on the All-Tournament Team were six others. Boston College was led by MVP Jill Strockis, Most Outstanding Libero Makenzie Morrison, Jane Dejarld and Amaka Chukwujekwu. Also earning spots were Janet Kalaniuvalu (Southern Utah) and Addie Halverson (Jacksonville State).
GCU struggled to stop the Eagles' attack as BC hit at a .438 clip for the match. Four of BC's starters hit better than .500.

Melody Horton led the Lopes with seven kills and seven digs. Moss also added seven kills and a pair of blocks. Junior setter
Kayla Redfield had 18 assists while freshman outside hitter
Esmee Priem and sophomore libero
Teagan DeFalco added six digs apiece.
The Lopes are 4-2 and will head to the Blue Hen Invitational next week at Delaware.
