The Grand Canyon women's basketball team suffered its second home setback of the season, losing 69-47 to Montana on Friday night at GCU Arena.

Taylor Caldwell led GCU (2-5) with 12 points on the night while senior guard
Kavita Akula added 11 points and a team-best four assists against Montana (4-3).

Carla Balague went 3 for 4 from the field for seven points with her team-high nine rebounds. Senior center

AJ Cephas added four points apiece, while the trio of freshman guard

GCU held a 13-12 lead after the first quarter but surrendered a seven-point run to end the half trailing the Griz, 31-26. Caldwell put up 12 points for the Lopes in the first half, six in each quarter, on 5-for-9 shooting from the field.

Montana continued to expand its lead in the second half with each starter scoring in double figures as the team shot 47.5 percent from the field with only nine turnovers.
GCU plays its final home game of 2018 on Tuesday, when the Lopes host Portland State at 6 p.m. Admission to all GCU women's basketball games is free.Â
