GCU faces plethora of Power-5 competition at Hawkeye Invitational
The Grand Canyon swimming and diving team will head to Iowa City, Iowa, to compete in the Hawkeye Invitational this week.
The three-day meet will take place Thursday through Saturday at the University Aquatic Center at Iowa.
For all three days, the preliminary rounds for all swimming events will begin at 9 a.m. (Phoenix time) with diving events starting at noon (Phoenix time). Finals for swimming and diving events will start at 5 p.m. (Phoenix time). All relays will take place during the evening session.
This year's Hawkeye Invitational is loaded with nationally ranked competition. Participating teams for swimming and diving include Iowa (men/women), Minnesota (M/W), Missouri State (M/W), Nebraska (W) Purdue (M), South Dakota (M/W) and Southern Methodist (W). Schools participating only in diving events include Kansas, Michigan State, Nebraska-Omaha, Northern Iowa and Wisconsin.

Admission to the Hawkeye Invitational is free. The spectator entrance to the University Aquatic Center will open 90 minutes before the start of each session.
