Lopes, Wildcats face off for the first time in program history
The Grand Canyon swimming and diving team holds its first home meet of the 2018-19 season Saturday when the Lopes welcome top-25 program Arizona to Phoenix.
The teams' first-ever meeting will start at 1 p.m. at the Fr. Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center on the campus of Brophy College Preparatory.
The Arizona men's and women's teams are coming off top-25 national finishes as the men's team placed fifth at Pac-12 Championships and 16that NCAA Championships. The women's team placed fifth at Pac-12 Championships and 20that NCAA Championships.
In the final College Swimming Coaches Association of America rankings for 2017-18, the men finished No. 18 and the women were No. 23.
Brophy is located at 4701 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix. The pool is on the east side of campus with parking on the south side. Follow the path around the baseball field to get to the pool.
