PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team looks to win its fifth-straight contest on Saturday afternoon, as the Lopes host Seattle U in the Western Athletic Conference opener at 2 p.m. at the GCU Arena. Admission to all GCU women's basketball games is free of charge.
Grand Canyon won its fourth-straight game on Tuesday with a 75-51 victory over Arizona Christian, as
Brie Mobley tallied her fifth double-double of the year and
Jessica Gajewski led with 19 points. The Lopes will go on the road for two games following Saturday's contest before returning to Phoenix for the rest of January.

Scouting Seattle U
Seattle U is 6-9 on the year and heads to Phoenix to open WAC play with a four-game losing streak under their belts. The Redhawks began the 2017-18 season with back-to-back losses to Idaho State and Hawai'i, before establishing a three-game winning streak with victories over UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine and Portland State.
Seattle U then lost two straight to UC Davis and California before going 3-1 with wins over San Diego, Montana and Idaho and a loss to Nevada. Since then, the Redhawks are 0-4 to Pacific, Washington, UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge.
Last season, the Redhawks were 15-18 overall and 10-4 in the WAC. GCU and SU split the two-game regular season series, as Seattle won the first matchup (86-60) and GCU won the second (82-77). Seattle lost to New Mexico State in the championship game of the WAC tournament (63-48) and fell to Wyoming in the first round of the WNIT, 68-52.
