PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team looks to bounce back on Saturday when they host Utah Valley (9-11, 3-2 WAC) at the GCU Arena. The Lopes (9-10, 3-2 WAC) fell to Kansas City a week ago at home for just the second loss in nine games dating back to a win at Northern Arizona on December 14.
GCU plays at home for the final game in January and the first of four remaining home games in 2018. Senior
Brie Mobley leads GCU in scoring and rebounding, and is averaging 21.2 points per game in conference play through five WAC games.

Scouting Utah Valley
Utah Valley is 9-11 on the season with a 3-2 record in Western Athletic Conference play. The Wolverines started the year with a five-game losing streak after falling to Weber State, Portland, Oregon State, BYU and Eastern Washington. UVU won its first game of the season over Dixie State and went on to win a second-straight over Southern Utah.
UVU was 4-4 in the final eight games of the non-conference season, as the Wolverines claimed wins over Air Force, Utah State, Cal Poly and Antelope Valley. Utah Valley lost to Pepperdine, Idaho State, CSU Fullerton and Denver during that span. Since starting WAC play, the Wolverines have lost to CSU Bakersfield and New Mexico State, while defeating UMKC, Chicago State and UTRGV.
Last season, UVU was 9-22 overall and 3-11 in the WAC, as the Wolverines fell to GCU in both conference matchups. Utah Valley defeated third-seeded CSU Bakersfield in the first round of the WAC Tournament before falling to No. 2 Seattle, 61-60, in the semifinal.
