PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team looks to win its third-straight contest and eighth in the last nine games on Satuday afternoon, as the Lopes (9-9, 3-1 WAC) host Kansas City (6-13, 2-2 WAC) at 2 p.m. at the GCU Arena. Saturday's game will highlight the Special Olympics as well.
GCU is coming off of a 28-point victory at home over Chicago State, where senior
Brie Mobley tallied her sixth double-double of the year with 25 points and 10 rebounds en route to the Lopes third conference win. GCU is tied for first place in the conference standings.

Scouting Kansas City
Kansas City is 6-13 on the year and 2-2 in Western Athletic Conference Play. The Roos most recently broke a two-game losing streak with a victory at CSU Bakersfield (60-58). UMKC started the 2017-18 season with six-straight losses to Western Illinois, Nebraska, Tulsa, Iowa State, Illinois State and Kansas. They defeated Lincoln before losing two more to Oral Roberts and Wichita State.
The Roos closed out non-conference play with a 3-3 six-game run, including wins over Harris-Stowe, Stetson and CCCB and losses to Northern Colorado, Denver and FAU. UMKC has defeated UTRGV and Bakersfield in conference play, while taking losses to Utah Valley and Seattle U.
Last season, the Roos were 10-19 overall and 4-10 in WAC play. UMKC defeated UTRGV, 77-69, in the first round of the WAC Tournament, before falling to eventual tournament champion New Mexico State, 71-63, in the second round.
