Taylor Nowlin earned her second WAC Player of the Week honor for her performance for March 7-13. This marks her fourth career honor.
Nowlin had yet another successful outing in the CSUN Matador Classic in Northridge, Calif. this past weekend. She held opponents to a .167 batting average and went 2-0 with a save in four appearances. She allowed just five earned runs on eight hits in 14.1 innings pitched and finished out the weekend with a 2.44 ERA.
The Lopes' all-time strikeout leader kept the strikeouts rolling with 11 on the weekend. She collected her second save of the season after throwing one hitless inning to secure the Lopes' 5-1 victory over San Diego Saturday.
In the tourney finale, Nowlin picked up a win against Toledo. She allowed just two runs on four hits with four strikeouts over 6.0 innings on the day.
On the year, Nowlin has racked up 69 strikeouts through 75.1 innings pitched and currently boasts a 1.95 ERA.
