The Grand Canyon men's and women's swimming and diving teams are warmed up and ready to face off against seven other schools at the Northwestern TYR Invitational this Friday, Nov. 18 – Sunday, Nov. 20.

The Lopes will join competition host, Northwestern, as well as Air Force, Saint Louis, Truman State, UIC, Michigan State and Northern Iowa. The events will kick off each day with prelims at 8 a.m. MST followed by finals at 4 p.m. MST on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. MST on Sunday.

The men and women both finished in the top three after competing at the TYR Invitational for the first time last season. The men's team finished second behind Michigan State and the women's team finished third behind Northwestern and Michigan State. The Lopes also walked away with a total of 10 new pool records on the weekend.

The men's team is just coming off their first loss of the season to Air Force two weeks ago (Nov. 6) while the women's team has been eager to get back into competition water following a pair of victories against Seattle U and Loyola Marymount (Oct. 28-29).
