Live Stats To wrap up a five-match homestand to kick off the 2015 season, the Grand Canyon women's soccer team will host Oakland and Alabama State this weekend. After the Sept. 6 matchup against Alabama State, the Antelopes next week home match is 20 days later when conference play begins. Oakland and Alabama State will be the final non-conference matches GCU will play at home this season. The Lopes are coming off their first two-match weekend of this season where the squad went 1-1 with a win over Colorado State and their first defeat of the season to Weber State.
Grand Canyon has the third highest winning percentage this season at .667, behind Missouri-Kansas City and Utah Valley who have both played four matches. GCU has been on the attack offensively to start the season putting up 42 shots with 16 shots on goal. In 2014 Grand Canyon had 10 different players score and in three games this season, GCU has receiving scoring contribution from four different players scoring four goals. Grand Canyon has already surpassed last season's win total in non-conference in just three matches with six matches remaining. Last week's play was highlighted by Milla Benedetti with GCU's first two-goal match of the season against Colorado State in a 2-1 victory.

Scouting OaklandThe Bears have had two matches at home and two on the road to start the season. Oakland has scored five goals this season by five different players but the three assists the Bears have tallied this year have come from Joan Sieja. Oakland has outshot their opponents so far this season 55-50 with 30 of those shots on target. Alison Holland has played all 420 minutes in goal for the Bears posting a 1.71 goals against average with a 65.2 save percentage.
Scouting Alabama State The Hornets have not won a game this season after two tough matches to start the season but the team's offense has picked up the last two matches scoring five goals in 200 minutes. Ariela Lewis has started off the season hot for ASU scoring three goals with one assist for a total of seven points. Lewis is tied with Larissa White for the most shots on the team with seven. Gianna Guyot has played the majority of the minutes in goal for Alabama State posting a 3.67 goals against average with 20 saves. When ASU has scored this season they have struck early with four of the five goals have come in the first half.
