Grand Canyon University head women's soccer coach Stevie Gill has announced the addition of three student-athletes who will further their academic and athletic careers at GCU in 2015-16. Head Coach Stevie Gill "I believe that these three student-athletes will have a significant role to play here at GCU right out of the gate," said Gill. "With Christian's "Kiki's" International experience in World Cup Qualification with Guatemala, Samara's acumen playing with one of the TOP ECNL teams in the Nation in West Coast Futbol Club and Reba's involvement with the Colorado Storms ECNL program, it is a WIN-WIN-WIN for the Women's Soccer program here at GCU. More importantly, the three girls are excellent students, great people and will fit into our team culture wonderfully."

Pousma on why she chose GCU: "Most people in my position want a school that offers great academic and athletic experiences. In addition, I want to connect with my coaches (typically a combination of intensity, personality and great sense of humor), I want to go to the university (even if I weren't playing soccer), I want a great location geographically, I want a competitive NCAA conference, I want to bond with teammates, and I want to be on an inspirational campus. GCU scored the highest among my other D1 opportunities. Then there's the intangible, "I just want to go there". Coaches Gill, Barron and Kellar immediate became my favorites. The best way to put it, "I feel at home."Christian Recinos (Pictured on left)

Club Team: Sting Soccer Club Club Coach: Gilbert Richeson Coach Gill on Recinos: "Kiki can play a number of positions very well which will be invaluable over the course of the season. Her experience with the Guatemalan National Team and competitive spirit will significantly benefit those players around her." Recinos on why she chose GCU: "Many people ask me why I chose GCU, but in my point of view, GCU chose me. I have been blessed with this great opportunity to attend GCU next fall. I cannot wait to wear my favorite color purple and share my passion with the game of soccer with GCU. The campus is absolutely breathtaking, with a great Sports Management program, and of course the sunny weather all year long. May all the glory go to God as we kick-off the 2015 season."
