In its inaugural season in the Mountain West, Grand Canyon women's soccer has two players receiving all-conference recognition for their superb seasons.
Â
GCU sophomore forward
Reese Clem made the All-Mountain West second team alongside fellow sophomore midfielder
Tatum Hofstetter, who also made the Mountain West All-Newcomer Team in her first Lopes season.
Â
"We are extremely proud of these two well-deserved honors and accolades," Lopes head coach
Chris Cissell said. "Reese had an incredible year, especially in conference matches, leading our offense in most offensive categories. Tatum was super impressive in her first season with our soccer family. We are excited and optimistic knowing we have these two for years to come ijn the attacking third."
Clem led the team in goals with six scores during the 2025 season. The mark led the team and was the highest single-season total in the last two seasons for GCU. Her 14 points also ranks as the highest in the last two GCU campaigns.Â
Â
Clem scored two game-winning goals this season (Portland State on Aug. 28 and UNLV on Oct. 12), while also adding two assists to her resume. She scored five of her six goals in MW play, at one point scoring in three consecutive matches.
Â
The Littleton, Colorado, native scored two goals early in her freshman season before battling injury the rest of the way. In Year 2, she exploded onto the scene and leads active GCU players in goals heading into 2026. Clem logged 1,117 minutes on the season.
Tatum Hofstetter
All-MW second team, MW All-Newcomer Team
In her first season as a Lope, Hofstetter made an immediate impact as the Lopes' mainstay attacking midfielder. Hofstetter only trailed Clem in points and goals, as she added five goals and 11 points on the season.
Â
Hofstetter, who is a native of Scottsdale, returned to her Valley home after her freshman year at Ole Miss. While she dealt with injuries throughout the season, the sophomore still appeared in 16 of 18 matches with 15 starts.
Hofstetter scored two game-winning goals (Idaho on Sept. 11 and San Jose State on Oct 5) and scored multiple times from long-range, curving the ball over the goalkeeper's head and into the upper-left quadrant of the frame.
The sophomore duo will be reunited with center-forward sophomore
Ellie Johannes in 2026, making for an exciting attacking third in the years to come for GCU.
