Grand Canyon avenged a Western Athletic Conference road loss with a 60-50 victory over Utah Valley at GCU Arena Saturday.
Casey Rarrick had her fourth 20-plus game in the last five and
Courtney Hayes stuffed the stat sheet with career-best 17 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and four steals.

The Lopes (10-12, 4-5) led by 11, 36-25 with 16:38 remaining, but the Wolverines (9-15, 3-6) followed with a 14-0 run to take a 39-36 lead with still 13:09 to go. GCU tied the game 42-42 on a layup from
Mikaehla Connor and took the lead for good at the 8:00 mark on a steal and layup from Hayes. A Rarrick three-pointer, her fifth of the game, extended the Lopes lead to 51-46. Hayes upped the lead to eight, finishing off another steal with a layup and free throw.
The Lopes wrapped it up at the free-throw line, going 7-of-9 in the final two minutes.
Rarrick was 5-of-9 from three-point range and is averaging 19.0 points per game in the last five contests. Hayes had 13 points in the second half. Returning to action after missing the last three contests,
Jessica Gajewski had seven points. Off the bench, Connor had six points and five rebounds. Hayes,
August Touchard and
Cheyenne Hedrington were co-team leaders in rebounds with six.
The Lopes committed only eight turnovers, three in the second half.
Rhaiah Spooner-Knight led Utah Valley with 16 points. Mariah Seals scored 11.
