PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team returns home from its holiday break to wrap up non-conference play starting with a matchup against San Diego Christian. The Antelopes will look to make it two wins in-a-row at GCU Arena after last week's victory over Northern Colorado. As the temperatures continue to drop, GCU will be hosting Hot Chocolate Night as fans in attendance will receive free hot chocolate.

After an impressive victory over Northern Colorado,
Jessica Gajewski has earned her second Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week award this season. For the third time this season, Gajewski has score 20-plus points in a game scoring 21 points while shooting a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line against Northern Colorado. Gajewski led GCU in scoring for the third time this season and when Gajewski scores 20 points or more in a game, the Lopes are 3-0. This is the third time Gajewski has been named WAC Player of the Week in her career.

Grand Canyon will host its three final non-conference games against San Diego Christian, UC Riverside (Jan. 2) and Arizona Christian (Jan. 4) before hitting the road on Jan. 7 against Texas Rio Grande Valley. The Lopes have the opportunity to surpass last year's win total during their non-conference schedule after GCU went 6-7 last year. With a victory over San Diego Christian, GCU has the opportunity to move into a three-way tie for the second most victories in the WAC along with Texas Rio Grande Valley and Utah Valley. Â
