Live StatsLive Video PHOENIX – For the second straight weekend, the Grand Canyon women's soccer team will face Utah Valley and Seattle. This weekend, the Antelopes will host the Wolverines and the Redhawks at home for the first of three matches at home to end the season. Utah Valley and Seattle remain as the only two teams that have not been beaten during conference play.
After a disappointing 3-1 loss to Utah Valley in Orem to begin last week's roadtrip, the Lopes responded with a solid performance on the road against Seattle. The Redhawks had allowed just one goal in six matches in conference and the Lopes were able to score two goals against Seattle. GCU is currently in a tie for fourth place with CSU Bakersfield with Missouri-Kansas City, Seattle and Utah Valley ahead of them in the standings. After seven matches in the WAC< senior Cassie Beckwith leads the conference with 30 shots, averaging 4.29 per contest. Deseree Doty is second in the conference with five goals during WAC play while Milla Benedetti and Beckwith are tied for eighth place with three goals. For the entire season, Benedetti is third in the WAC with seven goals and sixth in points with 16.
All-Time Series RecordGCU will face Utah Valley for the sixth time with an all-time record of 1-4-0 against the Wolverines. The Lopes will meet Seattle for 12
th time in school history with the Seattle winning ten matches.
Scouting Utah Valley The Wolverines remained unbeaten in conference after two wins against CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon scoring six goals including two goals from Kasandra Anderson and Sheridan Fox. Scoring six goals along with eight assists this season, Anderson is third in the WAC with 20 points and right behind her in the standings is Fox currently in fourth place with eight goals and three assists. Friday's match against GCU is the start of a three-match roadtrip to finish the regular season for Utah Valley.
Scouting SeattleThe Redhawks still sit in second place after going 2-0 against CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon. Julia Moravec continues to lead the conference in points scoring seven goals along with seven assists for 21 points. After this past weekend, teammate Karli White has tied Moravec for the conference lead in points also scoring seven goals and seven assists. Against the Lopes, Moravec scored the final two goals for Seattle while Kelly Beck scored the first goal of the game.
