THE LAST SERIESThe Antelopes won their seventh WAC series in eight tries, getting their second conference series sweep, this time over North Dakota in Grand Forks. Andrew Naderer and Coley Bruns tossed back-to-back complete games, the latter of which was a shutout as Bruns remained perfect (6-0) on the season. Michael Pomeroy extended his hit streak to 13 games after going 5-for-13 (.385) including two multi-hit affairs. David Walker hit .500 (7-for-14) in three starts.
WHERE WE STACK IN THE WACGCU was picked to finish fifth in the 10-team Western Athletic Conference, while Bakersfield, who won a share of the WAC regular season title in 2013, was chosen as the preseason favorite. Currently, Sacramento State, who was picked to finish third, leads the conference with an 18-6 record, just 1.0 game ahead of the Lopes who are in second with a 17-7 WAC record. GCU is 2.0 games ahead of Utah Valley, who originally was selected to finish second overall. Any combination of a GCU win coupled with a Sacramento State loss would place the Lopes in a tie for the regular season title.
