GAME NOTES
VS. KANSAS CITY
GCU is 3-0 all-time against the Kangaroos, winning their first meeting this season 72-53 in Kansas City. Their prior two matchups occurred in the 1970s in Phoenix.
CONFERENCE TITLE/POSTSEASON HOPES
With four games to go, GCU still has a chance to win the outright regular season WAC title, as it trails New Mexico State and Utah Valley by only one game in the loss column. Those two sides will meet this Thursday, forcing one of them into their fourth conference loss of the season. According to the WAC, there is no tiebreaking procedure for a two-way or three-way tie atop the standings, as both or all three, would be named co-champions in the event a tie takes place. As for playing beyond the regular season, a much talked about topic, GCU is not eligible for the WAC, NCAA or NIT Tournaments. The Antelopes, however, are available for the CBI (16 teams) and CIT Tournaments (32 teams).
LAST TIME OUT
The 'Lopes dropped a close contest at Idaho, 83-77, on Feb. 22 despite a furious second half rally. GCU was down by just two points at the half and pressured the Vandals defense for the final 20 minutes, but Idaho drained seven free throws down the stretch to cement the win. Jerome Garrison led the 'Lopes with 26 points, while Daniel Alexander scored a career-best 22 points. Killian Larson recorded his 17th double-double with 14 points and 20 rebounds. GCU shot 39.1 percent (25-for-64) in the game and made 11 three-pointers.
