GAME NOTES
VS. KANSAS CITY
GCU is 2-0 all-time against Kansas City, although their two meetings came during the 1974-75 and 1977-78 seasons. Both games were played in Phoenix.
LAST TIME OUT
GCU fought off a late rally by Chicago State to win their third straight WAC contest, 76-75, on Thursday night. The 'Lopes were led by Killian Larson's 14
th double-double, which included 28 points and a career-high 20 rebounds. Jerome Garrison added 17 points. GCU shot a blistering 62.1 percent in the first half, but were just 5-for-22 from the field in the final 20 minutes.
GETTING DEFENSIVE
Head coach Dan Majerle may have been known for his shooting prowess during his time in the NBA, but he also made a name for himself on the defensive side. That has translated over to his GCU squad, as they have held the opposition to 40.0 percent or less from the field nine times this season, including a season-low 24.1 percent (13-for-54) against Western New Mexico.
CLUTCH IN CONFERENCE PLAY
Jerome Garrison leads all WAC players with 20.9 points per game in conference play, while Killian Larson ranks first with 11.3 rebounds per contest. Larson also holds the top spot in free throw percentage (86.4), while Garrison leads all players with 30.8 minutes per game. As a team, GCU leads all WAC schools with a 77.3 free throw percentage.
