The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team evened their record to 2-2 with a 64-49 victory over Florida A&M (0-4) tonight at GCU Arena. The Antelopes matched their season-high in points while holding an opponent to 50 or fewer points for the second time.

GCU was led by
Royce Woolridge with 15 points, while
Daniel Alexander had a season-high 13 and
Ryan Majerle added 11 points. Woolridge has now scored in double figures in each of the Lopes' games this season as tonight's total matched his season-best. As a team, GCU shot 40.7 percent (24-for-59) while holding the Rattlers to a 35.3 percentage (18-for-51).
The Lopes were aided by 22 points off the bench and held the 13-6 advantage in second chance points. GCU also outrebounded FAMU 40-33 and forced 13 Rattlers turnovers.
After the Rattlers took an early 12-10 lead, GCU scored eight unanswered points to build an 18-12 advantage with 6:07 on the clock. During that run, the Lopes held FAMU scoreless for nearly five minutes.
The Rattlers responded with a 6-0 run of their own over the next two and a half minutes to even the score at 18 with 3:58 remaining. However, the Lopes scored 16 of the final 20 points in the half to carry a 34-22 lead into the break. GCU shot 38.7 percent from the field (12-for-31) over the first 20 minutes, while the Rattlers went 10-for-27 (37.0 percent) in the same time.
Alexander and Woolridge went into the locker room with 10 points apiece, while Majerle added six.
GCU scored the first seven points of the second half to make it a 41-22 game with just over 17 minutes remaining. The Lopes allowed just four points to the Rattlers in the half's opening minutes and would lead by as many as 26.
The Lopes improved their field goal percentage over the final 20 minutes, going 12-for-28 (42.9 percent) while limiting FAMU to just eight field goals.
