The Grand Canyon University baseball team remained 10
th in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) West Region poll, as released today.
The Antelopes are coming off a four-game sweep of Academy of Art in their Pacific West Conference opening series, outscoring the Urban Knights by a margin of 37-5.
Steven Swingle continues to swing a hot bat for the ‘Lopes with a .429 average (21-for-49) with 3 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 14 RBI in 12 games.
Derek Mendoza leads the squad with 15 RBI.
Jorge Perez picked up his team-high third win over the weekend and boasts a 1.38 ERA (4 ER in 26.0 IP) with 23 strikeouts.
Andrew Naderer leads the starters with 25 strikeouts.
