Grand Canyon's sand volleyball program has announced the signing of Chloe Stone to a national letter-of-intent during the November signing period.
Stone, from Vancouver, British Columbia, is a 5-8 left-handed hitter. She attends Pacific Academy in Surrey, BC and has a 3.91 grade-point average. She trains for sand with the Sideout Beach club in Vancouver.
Stone won gold medals at the U18 Provincial Sand Championships and the Provincial Indoor Championships. She was selected to the U21 British Columbia Sand Volleyball Team. In 2012, she was a Canadian national champion for the U16 Coquitlam Ducks club team and a winner of the U16 Vancouver Open Beach Volleyball Tournament. In 2011, she won a gold medal at the city championships and was named MVP.
"We're excited to have Chloe as part of our program for the 2014-15 season," said GCU coach Kris Naber. "We feel like she'll bring a defensive edge to our game with her experience and court awareness."
