GAME NOTES
GLOBAL SPORTS HOOPS SHOWCASE: GCU has faced host University of Utah once in program history, dropping a 72-48 contest to the Utes on Nov. 12, 2010 in Salt Lake City. The Antelopes will be competing against Savannah State and Lamar for the first time. So far this season, Utah (Pac-12) is 2-0, Savannah State (Mid-Eastern Athletic) is 2-3, and Lamar (Southland) is 0-3.
LAST TIME OUT: GCU won big in their regular season home opener, defeating Western New Mexico 91-41 in front of the second straight sellout crowd at GCU Arena. The 'Lopes were led by Demetrius Walker's career-high 21 points and Killian Larson's second consecutive double-double (18 points, 14 rebounds). Jeremy Adams chipped in a career-best 14 points, while Blake Davis pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds while also recording his first double-double of the season with 12 points. GCU shot a season-best 51.7 percent (30-for-58) from the field.
GETTING DEFENSIVE: GCU held Western New Mexico to a 24.1 field goal percentage (13-for-54), the lowest mark since GCU held New Mexico Highlands to a 24.1 shooting percentage (14-for-58) back on Nov. 17, 2007 in a 91-48 'Lopes win.
HOW ABOUT THAT MARGIN: GCU's 50-point win over WNMU was their largest since posting a 123-60 victory over Southwestern College (now Arizona Christian) on Jan. 11, 2007. The 91 points were the most scored by GCU since totaling 105 on Feb. 14, 2013 at Academy of Art.
