The Grand Canyon University women's soccer team and defending Pacific West Conference champion BYU-Hawai'i, ranked No. 10 in the West Region in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, played to a scoreless, double-overtime draw today at BYU-Hawai'i Field in Laie, Hawai'i.
The Antelopes, who extended their unbeaten streak to five, now are 3-3-2 overall, 2-0-1 in the PacWest. The Seasiders are 4-0-1, 1-0-1.
GCU played a player short and without its head coach for most of the game. Sophomore midfielder
Jessica Scarpati (Las Vegas, NV, Shadow Ridge) was shown a red card and sent off jusy 16:08 into the game, and then Head Coach Stevie Gill was dismissed by the referee at 27:17.
The Seasiders had a 16-9 advantage in shots in the game, as well as a 6-5 edge in shots on goal.
Twenty-three fouls were called, 12 of which were on the 'Lopes.

Stephanie Phillips (Tempe, AZ , Corona Del Sol , Washington State University) recorded six saves, including five in the second half, and BYU-Hawai'i sophomore keeper Megan McCain made five.
"I'm very proud of the girls and the way they fought after being a man down for most of the game," Gill said. "They showed great character and created many scoring opportunities despite the disadvantage. The back line played great and was solid throughout, along with our goalkeeper, Stephanie Phillips, who had an outstanding game."
The Seasiders were 14-2-2 overall and 12-1-1 in the PacWest last year, and finished the season ranked No. 21 in the nation.
The 'Lopes' next game is on Thursday, when they take on first-place Hawai'i Pacific (5-1-1, 3-0-1) at 3:30 p.m. Arizona time in Kaneohe.
"We will now begin our preparation for HPU with a view to being unbeaten on this lengthy road trip," Gill said.
