The Grand Canyon University softball team lost all three of its games today at the Tournament of Champions Presented by Mizuno in Turlock, Calif.
The Antelopes fell to 13-17 overall, 5-7 in the Pacific West Conference.
Chico State defeated GCU in the first game, 2-1.The 'Lopes had just five hits in the game. Freshman shortstop

Claire Zampini (Phoenix, AZ/Deer Valley) was 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored.

Dani Jackman (Mill Creek, WA/Henry M. Jackson) started for the 'Lopes and pitched three innings. She allowed two hits and one run, which was earned, walked four and recorded three strikeouts. Freshman
Janelle Christman (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro) pitched the last three innings, giving up two hits and one unearned run. She had two strikeouts.
Jackman took the loss and is 2-4 on the season.
GCU scored its only run in the top of the sixth inning. Chico State plated runs in the bottom of the third and fifth.
The Wildcats improved to 17-7, 11-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Conference.
UC San Diego beat the 'Lopes in the second game, 9-0. GCU had just two hits in the game, both of them by Smith (one was a double). The Tritons had 12 hits.
Freshman
Danielle Legee (Lebanon, OR/Lebanon) started for the 'Lopes and pitched 3.2 innings. She allowed seven hits and four runs, three of which were earned. The walked one and had no strikeouts.
Christman pitched the remaining 3.1 innings and gave up five hits and five runs, three which were earned. She walked two and had no strikeouts.
Legee took the loss to drop her record to 2-2.
Tournament host Cal State Stanislaus won the third game, 10-2. The 'Lopes managed six hits, including two by junior third baseman
Vanessa Chavez (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic, Central Arizona College). Zampini went 2-for-2 with one run scored.
Junior
Brittany Manzoline (Peoria, AZ/Cactus, Phoenix College, Glendale Community College), normally an outfielder, started for GCU. She pitched one inning and allowed one hit and two runs, one of which was earned. She walked one and recorded one strikeout.
Jackman pitched the next two innings and gave up six hits and seven runs, six of which were earned. She walked four and had three strikeouts.
Legee pitched the last inning and allowed two hits and one run, which was earned.
Manzoline took the loss and is 0-1 this season.
