Dixie State College took both games of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader from Grand Canyon University, 13-4 and 15-5, tonight at Kalr Brooks Field in St. George, Utah.
The first game ended after six innings, the second one five.
The Red Storm improved to 25-10 overall, 15-3 (second place) in the PacWest. The Antelopes fell to 17-20, 9-9 (fifth).
Dixie State had 16 hits in the first game; GCU had six -- one each by freshman shortstop

The 'Lopes scored all four of their runs in the first two innings and committed two errors in the game.
Freshman
Dani Jackman (Mill Creek, WA/Henry M. Jackson) started for GCU. She pitched 2/3 inning and allowed four hits and six runs, all of which were earned. She walked four and had no strikeouts. Freshman
Danielle Legee (Lebanon, OR/Lebanon) pitched the next 1 1/3 innings and gave up six hits and four runs, three of which were earned. She walked one. Freshman
Janelle Christman (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro) pitched the final 3 2/3 innings and allowed six hit and three runs, all of which were earned. She walked one and recorded the only strikeout of the game for the 'Lopes.
Jackman took the loss and is 5-7 on the season.
The Red Storm was led by right fielder Johnna Brown, who went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBI and one run scored; designated player Anna Cue, who was 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI and one run scored; and catcher Breanna Egge, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored.
Brittnie Miller pitched all six innings for Dixie State, walking four and having five strikeouts. She is 10-3.
In the second game, the Red Storm scored five runs in the second inning and six in the fifth, and pounded out 14 hits to the 'Lopes' seven.
As in the first game, no GCU player had more than one hit. None of the 'Lopes' hits went for extra bases.
Junior
Ivy Campas (Tucson/Sunnyside, Phoenix College) started for GCU. In three innings, she gave up nine hits and seven runs, six of which were earned, and recorded three strikeouts. Jackman pitched the fourth inning and faced four batters in the fifth. She allowed three hits and six runs, four of which were earned. She walked six and had one strikeout. Legee finished the game, giving up two hits and two runs, neither of which were earned, walking one and striking out one.
Campas took the loss to drop to 4-6 this season.
Dixie State center fielder and leadoff hitter Jaelle Judkins was 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored. Egge, Cue, designated player Kourtnie Schlacter and second baseman Ryanne Dacosin had two hits each.
The Red Storm and 'Lopes will play another doubleheader tomorrow starting at noon in St. George.
