Tchatchoua, Ngoundjo To Be Honored Saturday

It's Homecoming and Senior Day all in one for Grand Canyon Saturday.
Battling for first place in the Pacific West Conference, GCU will salute seniors Rony Tchatchoua and Gaby Ngoundjo prior to the 5:15 p.m. tip-off against Hawaii-Hilo.
GCU is 13-7 overall and 8-2 in the PacWest. Even in the loss column, GCU and Dixie State, also 8-2 in the PacWest, trail BYU-Hawai'i (9-2) and Chaminade (9-2) by one-half game.
The Antelopes come into their game with the Vulcans on a three-game winning streak. GCU has won 18 of its last 23 conference games and is 10-3 at Antelope Gym this season.
Grand Canyon and Hawaii-Hilo have had a very competitive series. GCU leads 11-4, but 11 games have been decided by six points or less. The 'Lopes will try to contain conference-leading scorer Justin Smith, who averages 19.1 points per game and over 20 points in conference contests.
"Hawaii-Hilo swept (Thursday's opponent) Hawaii Pacific and they have very similar styles," said GCU coach Russ Pennell. "They'll be a tough opponent and a tough challenge.
"It's going to be a big day for Gaby and Rony as they play Senior Day and it's Homecoming. There are a lot of incentives and what we hope is that we are able to come out victorious. If we come out and execute the way we did Thursday I like our chances."
