GCU to Host Carthage, Lees-McRae

The Grand Canyon University men’s volleyball team will host Lees-McRae College and Carthage College in a six match series this weekend, four of which the ‘Lopes will participate. GCU will face both teams today, Friday, Jan. 28 and Sunday, Jan. 30.
This is the first time the Antelopes will face the Carthage Red Men in the history of the program. Carthage finished the 2010 season with 21 wins and 12 losses to finish third at the Molten Division III National Championship. They defeated Nazareth College 3-0 in the consolation round. So far this season they have accumulated two wins and four losses.
Currently, GCU and Lees-McRae are even in their all-time series record at 3-3. The teams last met on March 19, 2010 where the ‘Lopes came out with a 3-1 victory. The bobcats finished the 2010 season 8-11 overall and 5-3 in the Conference Carolinas.
