Grand Canyon’s women’s basketball team takes on Academy of Art in the second of three Bay Area road games in San Francisco today.
Ranked No. 12 in the nation, GCU (13-2, 1-1) defeated Notre Dame de Namur 74-51 Tuesday. Due to an issue at Academy of Art’s home floor, Kezar Pavilion, the game will be played at San Francisco State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
GCU is 2-0 all-time against Academy of Art (4-10, 2-3).
“It was great to see the girls respond (against NDNU),” said head coach Trent May, referring to the team’s first game of the trip and first contest after a loss at No. 13 Dixie State. “We had a great effort on defense. It’s important to stay focused and put (Tuesday) behind us.”
The final game of the trip is Saturday at Dominican University in San Rafael. The team will return with eight straight home games beginning Jan. 27 against Chaminade.
