GCU Downs Limestone 26-12

The Grand Canyon University wrestling team closed out the Cliff Keen/NWCA National Duals with a 26-12 win over Limestone on Saturday evening in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
GCU finished 1-2 at the tournament.
After falling behind 6-0 after the first match, Todd Wilcox and Kyle Wilson picked up wins to even the dual at 6-6. Limestone regained the lead after the 149-pound match, but Ted Bristol’s pin at 157 and Mike Fucci’s major decision at 165 gave the ‘Lopes a 16-9 lead that they would not relinquish.
Victor Carazo and Eli Arizmendez picked up wins to each finish 3-0 for the weekend. Arizmendez improved to 7-0 since joining the Antelopes this semester.
The wrestling team returns home for a match against New Mexico Highlands on Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Antelope Gymnasium.
