The GCU women's cross country team finished third today at the GCU/SWC Invite in Tempe.

Today's race proved to be fast as coach Kim Sims predicted with four of five Antelope runners setting personal records.

Megan Young (Glendale, AZ/Cactus) finished first for the team, and 16th overall, running the 6K course in 20:35.98. Just behind Young was senior Mary Katherine Franklin (Lilbrun, GA/Providence Christian Academy, Berry College), shaving 35 seconds off her time to finish in 20:36.32. Sophomore Joy Hulsey (Peoria, AZ/Sunrise Mountain) ran the course in 21:21.97, 40 seconds faster than her personal best. The fourth score for the team came from freshman Kaitlyn Harbick (Sherwood, OR/Sherwood), who improved her time to 22:01.48. The final team scorer was Tamara Webb (Peoria, AZ/Raymond Kellis) coming in seven seconds behind Harbick at 22:08.78.

Pima Community College took first in team scores with 40. Mesa Community College came in second with 81 and Grand Canyon with 99 was third.
