Antelopes host No. 13 Holy Family, Adams St. in Trip Sports Classic

Grand Canyon University's women's and men's basketball teams will host No. 13 Holy Family University and Adams State College, respectively, Saturday as part of the Trip Sports Classic, which runs through Monday.
GCU women's team tips off at 6 p.m. The Antelopes men's team follows at 8 p.m. on a day in which six games will be played in Antelope Gym. Both of Grand Canyon's games will be broadcast on the radio. The women's game will be aired in Pennsylvania and the men's game will be featured in Colorado.
Four games will also be played Sunday and four more Monday in the Classic, which is run by the Ohio-based Trip Sports company.
Saturday's women's game marks the first time in two weeks GCU (4-6) will suit up since falling to No. 3 UC San Diego on the road. It is the second straight game against a ranked opponent for the Antelopes.
Holy Family (8-0) is coming off a 65-52 win over New Haven on Dec. 21. Kelly Killion had 19 points and 10 rebounds in that game. Freshman Catherine Carr leads the Tigers in scoring at 16.9 and is pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game. Christine McCollum is averaging 12.3 points and 8.4 rebounds, while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor.
Adams State (9-2) is coming off an 80-66 win over Metro State on Dec. 16. Rece Hampton had eight dunks, 27 points and 11 rebounds in that win. He leads the Grizzlies in scoring (18.4), rebounds (8.0), steals (2.9), blocks (2.7) and shooting (.687). Larry Charles Jr. is averaging 12.2 points.
