Grand Canyon University opened the 2009 baseball season at Brazell Stadium with a 9-3 loss to CSU San Bernardino Sunday.

The Lopes (0-1) committed four errors and had three runners picked off base in the loss. The teams finish the three-game set with a doubleheader Monday beginning at 11 a.m.

"I'm disappointed, but we have a better foundation of veterans and we'll be able to bounce back," said Damion Swisher (pictured), the Lopes opening day starter.
