Collins, Stockfisch lead Lopes to doubleheader split

The youngster handled things on the mound and the veteran took care of things at the plate.
Grand Canyon freshman Casey Collins (pictured) gave up just one run, scattered seven hits and struck out four to earn a complete game victory in the Lopes 3-1 triumph over Mesa State in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday at Brazell Stadium.
Senior Austin Stockfisch drove in all three runs with his second and third home runs of the season. He is hitting .588 for the season has 11 RBIs and a 1.235 slugging percentage.
The Lopes lost game two of the twinbill 25-12.
