Lopes suffer tough 2-1 loss to Cal State LA

Freshman Casey Collins pitched well for the third straight outing, but it wasn't quite enough for Grand Canyon against Cal State Los Angeles Friday.
The Lopes' lone run came on a Matt Fox homer and they lost 2-1 to CSULA at Brazell Stadium.
Collins (pictured) had a season-high seven strikeouts and had his longest outing of the year, seven and one-third innings, but the Lopes managed only three hits off Golden Eagle pitchers Isaac Morales and Camron Collard.
"It's a tough one, but tomorrow's a whole new day," said Fox, whose fourth-inning homer tied the game. It was his second of the season. "We'll come to the park (Saturday) and forget about it."
