Grand Canyon knows how to entertain.
In only its second home volleyball match in its inaugural season, GCU welcomes another nationally-ranked opponent.
The Lopes lost 3-0 to then-No. 14 Loyola-Chicago on March 1. No. 15 Ball State is in town for two matches this weekend. The Lopes and Cardinals play 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The last home match of the season is against NAIA standout St. Ambrose 7 p.m. Monday.
Grand Canyon played its first 16 matches on the road and at neutral sites. The first men's volleyball season in school history has taken the team to California three times, including Wednesday's trip to UCLA, North Carolina twice and Tennessee, Indiana and Illinois.
After the three matches at home, Grand Canyon will have three more road trips to close out Season 1. The Lopes head to Lake Wales, Florida for a round-robin tournament March 20-21, travel to Denver to take on Johnson and Wales and finish off the year with another venture to California to take on highly-regarded UC San Diego.
