GCU falls to Dixie; plays Saturday for shot at title game

ST. GEORGE, Utah -- Grand Canyon was downed, but its not out.

GCU (16-37) lost 20-7 to host Dixie State in the winner's bracket final of the PacWest Little World Series at Bruce Hurst Field Thursday.

The Lopes will play Saturday at 2 p.m. PT against the survivor of Friday's elimination games, which include Hawai'i Pacific, Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras and Puerto Rico-Bayamon. If the Lopes win Saturday, they will play Dixie State for the tournament championship at 6 p.m.
