The Antelopes have a chance to stay in the thick of the conference race, believe it or not, if they can beat Hawai'i Pacific at 4:30 p.m. Friday. It is the penultimate home game of the year for the women's squad.
GCU (3-8-1, 2-2 PacWest) is two games behind Hawaii Hilo, which leads the conference race with a 4-0 league mark. HPU (3-8, 1-3) is in sixth place.
The Antelopes have proven they can compete, considering their performance in the past three games. But the need to score is imperative now. GCU has not scored in its past two games.
Over the past two years, Grand Canyon has had success against Hawai'i Pacific, winning all four meetings in the series history.
The Antelopes beat the Sea Warriors by identical 2-0 scores in the two games last year.
